Summer Flex
This is how flex activities during the summer months are credited as defined in the Title 5 requirements of the flexible calendar program:
The Flexible calendar Program is based on the Fiscal Year: July 1- June 30.
For example, during Summer 2016:
- Activities occurring through June 30 are earned in the 2015-16 Academic year (spring semester for adjunct faculty), and are credited to that year.
- After July 1, credit is earned in the 2016-17 academic year (or fall semester for adjunct faculty)and credited to that year.
- “Banking” of flexible calendar time earned in one academic year and credited to another by individual faculty is not allowed under Title 5.
PGI Credit
The PGI Committee has determined that PGI credit is available for all Canvas workshops or bootcamps (but not appointments) under 21.07.B of the District/AFA Contract. Sixteen hours of workshop or bootcamp attendance is equal to 1 unit of PGI. Faculty: Please be sure to sign in and sign out of each workshop; Distance Education will provide the PGI committee a copy of the workshop roster upon request. For the Online Special Expertise certificate training, Distance Education will provide proof of certificate completion upon request. For more information, please visit the AFA contract, PGI web page.
