Most of the options below are curated from the Calfornia Virtual Campus / Online Network of Educator's (@ONE) course offerings, current webinar series, or YouTube Channel of past webinars.  

Quick Training Options

Video Tutorials: 10-Day Accessibility Challenge YouTube Play-List, Foothill College — This series of short, 3-4 minute videos, will walk you through the basics of how to create accessible content in Canvas.

Short Course: 5-Day Challenge: Creating Accessible Canvas Content — This course provides short written instructions and screenshots to guide you through the basics of accessible content creation in Canvas.  Plan on spending 20-30 minutes per day on each lesson.

Short Course: Introduction to Designing for Accessibility (Self-Paced) — This self-paced mini-course will introduce you to strategies for identifying and eliminating barriers to learning in your Canvas course. Approximately 60 minutes.

In-Depth Accessibility Training

4-Week Facilitated Course: Creating Accessible Course Content  — Creating Accessible Online Courses provides an overview of accessibility within online courses, focusing on the skills you will need to make your course both technically accessible and usable to a broad range of students. The course covers how to use online tools, including your course management system (CMS), to create accessible resources, to retrofit existing resources, and to curate new resources. The focal point of the course is learning how to use editors (both in your Canvas and in common software, such as Microsoft Word) to enhance accessibility.

Making Documents Accessible in Canvas — This @ONE workshop provides the basics of document accessibility for Word, PowerPoint and PDFs. 90 Minutes

How to Make Documents Accessible from your Canvas Course — This @ONE workshop teaches you how to convert your documents (Word, PDF, etc) into accessible Canvas pages.  Converting documents to Canvas pages is the easiest way for students to access your course materials. 90 Minutes

Captioning Strategies & Options — This @ONE workshop covers the importance of captions, issues caused by auto-captions, guidance for finding captioned videos, and tips and strategies to speed up your captioning process. 90 Minutes

Universal Design for Learning (UDL)

Meeting Students’ Diverse Needs: Universal Design for Learning — This @ONE workshop provides a thorough introduction to UDL, emphasizing how it can be used to serve our diverse student population's needs. 90 Minutes

Designing for the Future: Leveraging AI, UDL, and Flexible Course Design for Inclusive Learning  —This @ONE workshop explores how AI can support faculty in anticipating learner variability, designing flexible, inclusive courses, and fostering metacognition through reflective, growth-oriented rubrics—all key elements of  Universal Design for Learning (UDL). 90 Minutes
