Provides accessibility testing of Google Docs, Slides, and Sheets, and an interface for fixing issues.
Description
Grackle Docs is an add-on to the Google Suite of programs (Google Docs, Google Slides, and Google Sheets). Grackle Docs will test and help remediate Google content to work well with screen reader software and other assistive technology, while producing better-structured documents overall.
How to Use
Install Grackle
- Access a Google program from a web browser, and sign into Google with an SRJC bearcubs email account.
- (Contact IT about setting up a Google account with an SRJC bearcubs email account.)
- Go to the G Suite Marketplace.
- Search for Grackle Docs, Grackle Sheets, or Grackle Slides.
- Click on the app.
- Click Install, then Continue to begin the installation.
- Sign in with your SRJC bearcubs email address.
- Click Allow to permit Grackle to access your Google account.
- Click Done.
- Open any Google Docs and select "Grackle Docs" from the add-on menu.
- You will need to be logged into an SRJC-affiliated Google account (bearcubs) to see this option.
Access Grackle
- Open the specific application – Google Docs, Sheets, or Slides.
- Go to Add-ons in the top menu bar.
- Select Grackle.
- Select Launch.
- Sign in with your SRJC bearcubs email address.
- Click Allow to permit Grackle to access your Google account.
